28.5"x40" Pastel

I have always painted scenes of people enjoying activities in and around water, mostly because I love to paint reflections and sparkle. I have done several triathlon paintings and most of them show athletes who are quite seriously preparing themselves for a big race. I was struck by this scene of women, none of them serious athletes, who are having a casual conversation, helping one another with their hair, hats and goggles. Women today are athletes because it is fun, a way to get out, enjoy our surroundings and hopefully contribute to a good cause. In this case, I believe the race proceeds benefited the Laura Foundation and autism. - Terri Brooks
